Harendra Amarakoon is an architect and interior designer with over 13 years of active practice across high-end residential, hospitality, and healthcare projects. Based in Melbourne, she works across a range of projects in Melbourne and Sri Lanka — bringing the same considered, personally-led approach to every scale of work.

Harendra’s design foundation was shaped under two of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated architects — Channa Daswatte and Murad Ismail, both protégés of Geoffrey Bawa, the father of tropical modernism.

Among her notable projects is the design and delivery of Sri Lanka’s first and largest state-owned bone marrow transplant unit at the National Cancer Institute — a project demanding the highest standards of technical precision, spatial empathy, and care for children suffering from cancer .Her work has also been recognised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects, where she received the Colour Merit Award for her apartment interior at Grand, Colombo 7 for the year 2025.

A Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Harendra brings an internationally rigorous standard of practice to clients in Melbourne and beyond.
